What is Calisthenics?
Calisthenics is the name for an exercise routine consisting of a variety of movements which exercise multiple muscle groups at one time. For example, push ups engage your core and arm strength. These exercises are often performed rhythmically as bodyweight exercises with no equipment required so they are perfect to try at home.
The Benefits Of Starting Calisthenics
Getting started with calisthenics at-home is easy, you don’t need any equipment or a gym membership and you can benefit mentally as well as physically from this type of exercise. With time you will be able to tone and increase your muscle strength, without damaging your body from over-working and lifting too heavy-a-weight. Your endurance will rise due to the repeated workouts and circuit training that is calisthenics. As well as this you will become more flexible, working muscle groups together also works the joints and tendons to make them stretch and become stronger.
Mentally after a calisthenics workout you will feel energised and have a clearer mind, because when you train you release endorphins - your body’s very own happy hormone. Exercise is a great stress reliever, and can also do wonders for your complexion by releasing toxins through perspiration.
