Cobra Pose: Awakening Without Ego
Cobra Pose, or Bhujangasana, is a reminder that awakening doesn’t require force.
In yogic philosophy, the cobra symbolises alertness, discernment, and latent power. Upright but grounded, it reflects energy rising through the spine with awareness rather than urgency. In the body, Cobra Pose mirrors this balance: the heart lifts, the spine awakens, and the pelvis stays rooted to the earth.
This integration matters. Expansion without grounding creates instability. Bhujangasana teaches that true strength comes from staying connected—to breath, to body, to the ground beneath us.
With elbows bent and effort restrained, Cobra is an invitation to open without performing. To rise without gripping. To choose presence over proving.
The deeper teaching is simple: awakening isn’t about how high we lift, but how consciously we remain as we open.
